The weather is really nice around here but I have been in a funk for some reason. Hopefully today I will get over it! I have tons of reasons why I should be happy! I have a wonderful family, good friends, a house to live in, beautiful weather, clothes, food, the ability to go to church and worship God, and lots of other things to be thankful for. Jared and I were looking last night at the children you can sponsor from Compassion. Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. We talked about sponsoring one but I just don't see how you can decide from all those pictures. It just breaks my heart to see some of the places that these children live. I think about all the people who are so worried about having the biggest house, the best clothes, the nicest car. Where does that get you? You could be using some of the money to SAVE a child. Just think how much more rewarding that would be. All you do is pay $38 a month and that can change a child's life! It could pay for clothes, their education, clean water, or maybe make the difference if they have food or not. You can swap letters and pictures with your child. If you want to read more about it go to Compassion's website. You can then pick where you would want to sponsor a child and it will pull up all the children waiting to be sponsored. If you think you can't afford it, just think about what you spend $38 on during 1 month. Just don't go out to eat 2 times a month and you could be helping a child!
Hi Shelli,
ReplyDeleteWhat a super cute post! I love learning more from my bloggy friends! Soooo your 6 years younger than me huh! Wow now I really feel old LOL....
I don't like laundry either or empty the dishwasher....I'm not sure why empty the dishwasher is pretty easy but I don't like it LOL
I am always late too!
Oh and I think it is awesome to sponsor a child! If I was well I would adopt one! We are in the process of sponsoring a child....I think it really helps them and is VERY IMPORTANT....
We also made a donation to Haiti.....
Hope you have a great day
Summer :0)
