Thirty-One

I am now a Thirty-One Consultant!

I am really excited about this! I went to another party last night and have been thinking lately about how some extra money would be nice. It just kind of hit me last night how I would really enjoy selling it! Everyone loves this stuff. The bags are great! I love there stationary too! I was a little worried about it, so I prayed last night about it and asked God to lead me in the right direction! I sometimes don't make the best decisions so I just had to pray and let God take it from there! I emailed a bunch of people today just to see what feedback I would get. I got my first positive feedback and that's all it took! Ha!

My Thirty-One website is:

This month is $1 Embroidery!! I know its last minute because this month is almost over but you still have 2 days people! This is a great deal!

Next Month(March) is the "Organizing Shoulder Bag" for 1/2 off when you spend $31. It would only be $19. They are really cute and good for Moms who need extra hands!

If you decide you want to order something you can go on my site. You can order yourself or email me and I can do it for you!

If you have boys the "hoot owl" print is so cute, and for girls there are a ton of prints that are cute. The thermal tote is the most popular. There are 2 different sizes and you can monogram it too!

Also the Large Utility Tote is so nice to have. My sister has one in the back of her car to put things in. When she has her Scentsy parties she carries all of her stuff in it. It folds down flat!
I'm going to use mine in my car to put groceries in!

For kids there is tons of stuff! The Fold-and-go organizer is really cool. You can put crayons, a notepad, little toys, video games, or just about anything.

I could go on and on about all the stuff I love! Oh the Cinch-Sac is great for the little kids going to school, the gym, or the pool! You can monogram it as well!

I hope you enjoy this stuff as much as me! If you live around me you should have a party to see all these things, and if not you can always have a catalog party!
(I mean who doesn't like free stuff!)

Spring is in the air...

Well Spring's not really in the air outside, it's frigid cold here today, but inside it is!! I spent yesterday cleaning and putting out my spring decorations. I love decorating for different seasons; it just makes you feel so good! Especially Spring because it means warmer weather..come on Spring! Every time I look at the weather I see snow in the forecast.

This is my favorite picture of Finn. Melissa took this picture and I think it is so sweet of his little face!

I have lost some of my spring decorations. I'm not sure how that happened, maybe when we moved. I had this cute egg wreath and it is nowhere to be found!

Today my mailbox was packed full of goodies! I have been waiting on two packages and I got them both today!

Jared has been on me for weeks to order P90X, so I got it today and tonight we are starting (or attempt to start). I don't know how hard it is, but I'm a little nervous!  I told Jared I do not want to look like a body builder, I just want to lose a few pounds for the summer! We'll see how it goes. Maybe I will look like Kelly Ripa, that girl has some nice arms!

The other thing I got today was my chubby book from the DuetDiva. I entered her giveaway and I won! I was so excited, I never win anything. I also won a book called Footprints for Women.
I am so excited to start using my chubby book (just a spiral index card notebook). I think this is a great idea and actually the day I told my sister about it, someone had told her basically the same thing. It is amazing just how God works in your life. I was just thinking about how I need to do better at praying and I needed to start a list of things/people to pray for.  I think of people to pray for and then other people/things pop up that need prayers to and I always leave some out. This book shows you a better, more detailed way to pray. You divide your prayers into categories. Family, church, community, world, and blog friends. You can use whatever categories work best for you. Then assign a prayer for each category for each day of the week.

So for example:

Monday:
Family: Jared
Church: Michael (our preacher at church)
Community: A Friend who is pregnant
World: Children who need help/adoption
Bloggers: A family losing a little girl to cancer

She also said on the back you can you can write down more detailed prayers for each day. As you see God answering the prayers you can cross them out, and it will show you how he is answering prayers in your life!

Mindi's 1st Scentsy Party

Last night Mindi had her first Scentsy Party at my cousin's house. We sipped on some apple cider and got headaches from smelling so many scents! HA! Not really, I already had a headache before the party, but that didn't help! I wish I had taken a picture of us on the way. Me, Mom, Mindi and Monica all piled in the car and headed to the party. We left all the kids with my brother-in-law, Chad.  Jared was supposed to be home right after we left to get Finn and he was like 2 hrs late! I think Chad was ready to pull his hair out!

Monica and I were the assistants, until Monica got fired for spilling the wax! HA!

Monica, Mindi, Brandi, and Me

With Olivia (Brandi's little girl)

The COOL assistants!

I think the party was a success for Mindi's first one!

It was fun getting out of the house with the girls! I was so tired and I was wondering what I would come home to, a clean house?? YES! My hubby had Finn in bed, had cleaned up the house AND was in a good mood! (He has been a little on the cranky side this week)

Friday night I am going to 2 more parties, Thirty-One and Pampered Chef. I think I'm going to be partied out for awhile! Thirty-one has some cool stuff by the way. I am obsessed with owls right now and I ordered this cute little bag in the "hoot owl" print with Finn's name on it! I can't wait to get it!

Cute Hats and Beautiful Weather!

Beautiful weather, fun times with friends and family, good class at church, and being outside both days. That about sums up my weekend here! There's something about warmer weather after a while of cold just makes you feel so good!

Today it is rainy and we are having a lazy day. Jared has to go to school tonight, YUCK. He is getting his MBA and has class every Monday night. I dread Monday's just for him. I know that is a long day, work and then straight to school.

You have to see these hats this girl Jami makes.  Here are some pictures of the hats she made for Finn and Harper. These pictures may not do them justice. She makes all different colors too! You can email her if you are interested and she can whip one up for you! They are $15 and that is a great price for something that she hand makes and i'm sure takes a lot of her time! She can tell you all about the colors to if you are interested.

The girl's hats have these cute little flowers on them. She makes whatever size you need too. Infants, toddlers, young children, and adults. The prices may vary you will just have to ask her about that.

Inspiration..

Losing a child is my worst fear. I think about it a lot and I can't imagine ever having to go through that. Finn's short stay at the NICU was very stressful and painful but not only because of his situation. All the other babies in there made my heart hurt too. Just being in there and seeing all the babies laying there, hearing all the machines going off all day and wondering if they were going to be ok. It was really hard. I would see nurses and doctors rushing over to this one little baby that weighed about 2 pounds, and I just cried every time. I prayed all day for all the babies in there and for Finn. It was a very emotional week for me and Jared. We were just planning on having our baby, and staying in the hospital and enjoying him. God had different plans for us, and it changed our lives.  I talk about it often and I know that Finn is ok now, and that undeveloped lungs are common. It was just an eye-opener for me. I never really thought much about things happening to babies, or losing a child and I just wasn't pepared for it (I guess no one is).

I have been reading a lot of blogs about the loss of children and it really gives me inspiration. It is very sad to read about it, but on the other hand to see how they can go through that and then say it strengthens their relationship with God. I have seen a lot of people say that they turn their sadness in to strength and help others. It just amazes me that these couples faith stays so strong with such a devastating experience, and then they can minister to other people going through the same thing.

This is a quote from a blog that I found called Ella's Halo. They lost their little girl in the NICU. I don't know the details but when I read this it just touched me.
"Then you realize that you had been blessed to have had that one precious moment. Lucky that you were chosen to have had such an experience. So lucky to have felt such a connection with something so beautiful. So lucky to have seen that little star."

I heard a song on the radio yesterday and it just hit the spot with all these things that I have been thinking about. It is by JJ Keller and called "Your Hands". You should listen to it!

I have unanswered prayers

I have trouble I wish wasn’t there
And I have asked a thousand ways
That you would take my pain away
You would take my pain away

I am trying to understand
How to walk this weary land
Make straight the paths that crooked lie
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine

When my world is shaking, heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave your hands

When you walked upon the earth
You healed the broken, lost and hurt
I know you hate to see me cry
One day you will set all things right
Yeah, one day you will set all things right

When my world is shaking, heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave your hands

Your hands that shaped the world
Are holding me
They hold me still

So tonight I am saying a special prayer for everyone out there that may be struggling with any kind of pain. If it's the loss of a child, infertility, finanical problems, marital problems, the loss of a family member, any kind of health issues, or many other things. There are lots of things out there that are hurting people, and I will be praying that God will help take your pain away.  You just have to "Praise him in this storm" and know that one day his plan for us will be revealed and he will BLESS us!

Top Five Friday From Musings of a Southern Belle Mama!

So Today over at Musings of a Southern Belle Mama there is a GIVEAWAY going on! You should go check it out!

I have known this Southern Mama for a long time, and she and her Mom are the sweetest people!  When she first left me a comment and I looked at her blog, I thought this is a really cute blog. Then I started reading it and saw some pictures, and I figured out I knew who it was! I called Mindi, my blog reading sister, and she was excited too! I know it doesn't take much to get us excited!

To enter you leave a comment and tell 5 things you love(on her blog). I am going to share with you my 5 things I love right now! It was so hard narrowing it down to just 5!!

1. My first one is Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Pepper. I seriously go through about 3 cases a week. That is horrible, I wish I could stop but they are just so good!

2. I really wanted a good pair of skinny jeans to wear with boots, so I found a pair at Gap that I really like. I usually buy Citizen of Humanity Jeans (they fit so good), but I thought I would give these at Gap a try. They were a lot cheaper and fit really well!

3. With the skinny jeans I always wear my Steve Madden light tan colored boots. They are the slouchy looking tall boots with a little heel. They are so comfy for boots and I love wearing them.

4. Scentsy Wickless Candles. My sister sells them so I usually end up getting something every time I go over to her house! They are the best things ever! The smell isn't too strong and I love having lights around the house. I have 3 plug-ins (they are my favorite) and one big one that sits out.  My favorite is this red plug in that I have in my kitchen! You should go to her site and check them out, her link is on my page on the left side!

5. Dooney and Bourke BIG yellow pocketbook! Jared got it for me this past Christmas and I really like it. Its definitely the biggest pocket book I have ever had. I can put just about everything in it, and everywhere I go someone comments about how big it is.
(I couldn't find a picture of it in yellow)

I really could go on about my favorite things. There are 2 other things that come to mind: The beach and my Canon Rebel camera!! I just can't stop thinking about the beach and we are planning on going in a few weeks. YAY! Finn is going to love the beach this year, i'm sure we will be chasing him up and down the beach! At least I will get some exercise!

These are 2 of my favorite pictures from last year at the beach!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Random Wednesday

This is my Valentine's present from my Mom, cheese rings. She made me 2 big containers of these little things and I have eaten them everyday for lunch and pretty much all day long! They are soo good, I can't even describe how good they are. They just melt in your mouth and I am addicted! That is all I have left so i'm trying to ration them out!
Cheese Rings and Diet Dr. Pepper are like the best thing ever!!

Today Finn and I started off going grocery shopping. Finn has never really been grocery shopping with me before. I kind of keep him in a bubble and I can't help it. It's just in my blood to be very paranoid, my Mom and Sister are the exact same way. I know they say it's better to let them be around germs when they are little, but I just have a hard time doing that. I can't stand it when Finn is sick! I think he really enjoyed it; he just looked around and just took everything in.

I am trying to plan my meals out and just buy what I need for those meals, we waste so much food! I decided to make Shrimp and Grits for supper tonight. My friend Kathryn gave me the recipe and it was really good, so I'm going to pass it along. I added alot more cheese then it called for, and more salt and pepper. Also, Jared added Franks redhot sauce to his! It actually was really good (it spiced it up abit)!

Shrimp and Grits

Ingredients:
1 14-ounce can reduced-sodium chicken broth
1 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup quick grits, (not instant) (see Shopping Tip)
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper, divided
3/4 cup extra-sharp or sharp Cheddar cheese
1 pound peeled and deveined raw shrimp, (16-20 per pound; see Shopping Tip)
1 bunch scallions, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon salt

1.Position rack in upper third of oven; preheat broiler.

2. Bring broth and water to a boil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Whisk in grits and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in cheese. Cover to keep warm.
3. Meanwhile, toss shrimp, scallions, oil, garlic powder, the remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper and salt in a medium bowl. Transfer to a rimmed baking sheet. Broil, stirring once, until the shrimp are pink and just cooked through, 5 to 6 minutes. Serve the grits topped with the broiled shrimp and scallions.

I also made Paula Dean Banana Bread! It was really good too but I think I over cooked it a little. I added a bunch of chocolate chips to it which made it even better!

This little boy loved him some Banana Bread! He's going to love sweets like his Mama!

On another note (not about food) I am so proud of myself! I'm really trying to be a better person and wanting to focus my life more around God.  I took Finn to the doctor yesterday just to double check and make sure his ears weren't hurting him. I ended up waiting 1 1/2 hours just to get back to a room. My patience was getting pretty thin and I really had to hold back from being ugly. I just kept telling myself to stay calm and was so glad that I did. Once I got back there the Doctor apologized and told me that he was over booked and he had a few Hispanic family's and they couldn't understand each other, so he got really behind. I think that the devil was really pulling at me before and now that I'm focusing more on God, he helped me through that situation and helped me to be strong!
Jared and I have decided to join our church we have been going to, along with Mindi and Chad. We are all taking a class this Sunday, Rich Fork 101. We have to take it in order to join the church. I am really excited! I am excited to be a part of a church family and I want us to be more involved. I am not perfect and have made lots of mistakes in my life. I am so ready to be forgiven and move on and have a more spiritual life for my family! I want to be a better wife, mom, sister, daughter, friend, and just an all around better person!

HELP!!

Finn is definitley going through something these days. He is pitching fits, not wanting to eat, he cry's when I try to change his diaper, cry's when I change his clothes, he stands up and fusses during his bath (he has always loved his bath), he is getting into everything and when I tell him no he screams!  He embarrassed me at church the other day when I tried to change his diaper, in his class, he pitched a FIT.

It is really weird because he has always been this easy going, laid back, go with the flow little boy, and now he is changing! I don't really know what to do except to let him just cry it out. I don't want him to just cry all the time.  I am pretty stressed out right now. I guess he is just going through a change maybe, I hope it's normal and I'm not going to have a little devil on my hands!

Has anyone else been through this with a 13 month old? Is this normal?

My most Memorable Valentine's Day!

Today over at Kelly's Korner she is hosting "Show us your life" -Valentine's Dates or Ideas!

Valentine's Day 2009

The only Valentine's Day that stands out in my mind is last year. Finn was only a few weeks old and I was pretty much on cloud nine. My mom came and stayed with Finn so Jared and I could go out to eat (that was the first time I had left him). We went to a little Italian restaurant called Pinocchio's. We didn't give each other anything because we just had the best gift of all! We hurried over and ate really fast so we could get back home to Finn!  I remember calling Mom about a thousand times to check on him.

This year we are planning on going out to eat again! My sister is going to keep Finn for us and we are keeping her kids for them to go out too! We don't really go out and leave Finn that much,  I don't like being away from him!

I hope everyone has a good Valentine's Day!

Don't forget to check out my Giveaway here.
The winner will be picked on Valentine's Day!

Windy Wednesday!

Today it is freezing cold and soo windy! So we are just hanging out inside and staying warm! I keep hearing the wind blowing so hard out there. This morning I kept Mindi's kids (my sis) so she could get her hair highlighted! Finn loves playing with Sawyer and Harper. I think he gets bored here playing with me all day!

I tried to get a picture of all three kids on Finn's horse, but this was the best I got!

I did get these cute picture's of Sawyer and Harper!

I fixed Finn a pizza for lunch today. I know it's not the healthiest but he loves some pizza! He is at this stage where he wants to feed his self. He doesn't want me to feed him.
I guess he's starting to be more independent (sigh). Mommy is not ready for that!

While Finn was eating his pizza, I decided to make some Cake Balls.  I didn't even get to actually make the balls because I just ate the filling right out of the bowl, with a spoon! (And a Diet-Dr.Pepper!!!) HA! And I wonder why I can't lose 5 more pounds!

Check out these finger prints on my stainless steel appliances that are driving me nuts!  I can clean them and what do you know, 5 minutes later little Finn prints are all over them.  I guess I should just get used to cleaning my appliances everyday for the next 10 or so years!!

I hope everyone has a good Wednesday! I'm going to clean some hand prints..

Don't forget to check out the Mococreations Giveaway! You can read about it here!
