Award, Pictures, and a Prayer Request

First off today I wanted to ask everyone to pray really hard for a family that lost a 16 month little boy to a drowning accident. It happened yesterday at a local lake and I can't stop thinking about that family. I can't even begin to understand the pain they are going through.

I won this sweet award from Katie F over at The Life of an Army Wife. Thank you girly! She also lives in NC! She has only been married for about 2 years and her husband is being deployed for the 2nd time. She needs lots of prayers to! I am not really following the rules to this award. (Sorry Katie) I am going to list 10 things that make me happy, but I am going to give this award to all of my blogs that I read! I can't narrow them down because I love reading every single one of them for different reasons!

10 things that make me happy:

1. I am putting God first because he makes me happy and provides me with the things that make me happy. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't even have 10 things to write about!

2. My Family! Jared and Finn make me so happy. They are the loves of my life. Spending time with them is my most favorite thing to do!

3. Shopping! It just makes you feel so good to buy stuff! A little too much! Ha!

4. The beach.

5. Diet Dr Pepper and Coffee

6. Food makes me soooo happy! I love to eat! I'm really surprised I'm not as big as a barn!

7. Talking to Monica on the phone is my new favorite thing. We can talk on the phone and play on the computer at the same time!  It's nice to have someone to talk to about whatever is on your mind.

8. The rest of my family, my Mom, Mindi, Chad, Sawyer, and Harper. I see them every day and if I don't I feel lost! (I love the rest of my fam to, I can't name you all!)

9. The beginning of each season. We have had a few spring days and they make you feel so good! It seems like I love every season change! Just a change is nice!

10. Running! I really enjoy running, I just don't have the time these days! Hopefully once it starts getting warmer I can take Finn with me! After you run you feel so good and then you don't feel bad when you eat more sweets! Ha!

There was a basketball game going on so Harper was tuned in to that.

We were at Sawyer's awards banquet for basketball and it was way past these cuties bedtime! They were so good though! We are so blessed to have such good kids!

Need to get out.

I really need to get out of the house today and go buy something! Do you ever just need to buy something, even if it's only like 10 dollars? I have been trying to cut back on my spending (only one income can be a little tough). I haven't gone shopping in a long time and it's about to kill me. I am used to buying what I want, when I want it, and that is just not going to get it anymore. Sigh...but I do get to stay at home with Finn so that makes it all better! I used to think I would get to stay at home with my kids and shop everyday! What was I thinking! Plus, shopping with kid's every day. Not so much! I always feel bad dragging Finn around when I know he wants to be at home playing.

I did redo my blog, if you didn't notice. I like to change things often. I get tired of looking at the same thing! Plus I have a new love for owls and I wanted something with an owl. I am getting one designed just for me, but I am on a waiting list!

I was going through my pictures and this was about a year ago!

My how fast they grow up! Finn is still not saying too much but he is pointing at everything, and is ALL over the place. I can tell he is listening to me when I tell him to say something. He is just SO busy he doesn't want to take the time to stop and talk. I guess he will talk when he's ready! Jared's Mom said yesterday that she was worried about Jared because he never talked, then he just started talking in sentences one day!

Lazy Sunday

Today is definitely a lazy Sunday. I am fixing some Ranch Chicken again and a blueberry/strawberry pie! Yum! I can't wait to eat!

I decided to follow my bloggin' friend Summer and participate in the:

1. What's your favorite Easter candy? Well, I got some Runts that look like speckled eggs and I eat about 20 of those every night. They are supposed to be for decorations but I have to keep getting more to fill up the vase!

2. Who do you think is cleaner..men or women? I would say women, although Jared and my sister's husband, Chad, help us clean ALOT! We have them trained pretty good! Ha!

3. Which do you prefer..wordy blog posts or ones with pictures? I like blogs with pictures but sometimes just words can be good to. Just depends what it is about. I think I like pictures because it gives you an inside look into that person's life. You feel like you connect with them better.

4. Were you popular in highschool? I don't really know..I just know that once I started dating Jared I had the most fun!

5. What's your bra size? I honestly couldn't tell you. After I stoped pumping they got alot smaller and I love it! I was so tired of big boobs and MILK! Ha!

6. How many states have you lived in? Just NC..same town...same land I grew up on.

7. What's one blog you read every day? Kelly's Korner! I would love to meet her!

8. Peanut butter or Nutella? I really like both. I got on a Nutella kick for awhile, then I just stopped eating it. I haven't bought any in a long time. I do have PB now. Actually, I just used it all the other night for Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies!

 

 

Hope you all have a good lazy Sunday to! Sometimes it's just nice to do NOTHING! I am going to watch a movie tonight that I have been trying to watch for 2 nights!

A whole bunch of nothing..

Today we are working around the house trying to get stuff ready for next weekend. I am having an Open House to show off my Thirty-One stuff along with Mindi (Scentsy) and Monica (Mococreations)! I am really excited just to have some girls over and hang out. I think it will be fun! So, I am trying to get organized and I'm fixing a display for my bags. I am using old shutters to hang my bags on! I will defiantly show pictures after the party!

Mr. Finn is being a fuss pot today, I think he is teething. Jared is outside putting out our landscape lighting. It has been a whole day process! Then he figured out that 4 of the 8 lights are different. I wasn't really paying attention when he was explaining it to me! Needless to say he has gone back to Lowe's.

I got a call from Mindi earlier informing me that I won something. I then remembered about Summer's Giveaway for some Brighton earrings. I WON! I can't believe it! This is the second giveaway I have won in like a month. I will be running to the mailbox everyday waiting to get them! It will give me something to look forward to!

Good Food and Family..

My day turned around pretty quick yesterday once Jared got home. I fixed the Ranch Chicken and Creamed Spinach from the Pioneer Woman's website. She has a cookbook that I desperately want! Everything I have ever made from her is AMAZING! It was the best chicken we have ever had! Lowfat, not so much!

Then we watched our favorite show together! Family Feud! Yes, we are like old people watching all the game shows! I think Finn likes it because of the loud buzzing sound and people clapping! His attention goes straight to the TV when this show comes on.

We did a little more playing, and then Mindi and I went to the grocery store!

I FINALLY got me some Dt Dr Pepper!

 I then got in bed, watched my shows, and called it a night!

Good food and family is exactly what I needed!

Thoughtless Thursday!

Ok so I'm going to participate in Thoughtless Thursday from Katie's cute blog! I found it through a sweet blogger friend of mine, Summer.

I am NOT having the best of days.

1. I'm out of Diet Dr Pepper and REALLY need one! Can you be addicted to a soft drink? Humm..

2. Finn woke up from his nap screaming, and screamed for about 30 minutes no matter what I did. Then he started coughing (from crying so hard) and then came the throw-up! Seriously why can't we catch a break from all this sickness. We don't even go anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!

3. I'm out of Diet Dr Pepper and might I add we have NOTHING else to drink except for milk and water. Yuck!

4. I need to clean up today and really don't feel like it!

5. I have tried to call Jared and he won't answer (He's probably in a meeting but I wish he could just say.."ok stop everyone I need to answer this..its my wife!!").

6. Young and the Restless is not on due to the ACC tournament! Not happy about that! 

7. Found out that something that we have been praying for is not going to happen. I guess God has another plan.

I think we should call it "Lets Vent Thursday"! Ha! 

Finn was 7 months old in this picture. We always put him on the counter after his bath, dry him off, and do the nightly stuff. Now he will barely even fit! It is so sad how fast he is growing up. I get baby fever a lot these days. I think because I just miss having a little baby! Jared always pushes that idea out! Sigh..

I guess we all go through hard times, some a lot worse than others. You just have to remember that we can't ever doubt God's presence with us! God will never let us down.

My wonderful Husband!

I was laying in bed this morning thinking about how lucky I am to have such an amazing husband! I could go on forever listing all the great things I love about him. Yes, there are things he does that annoy me, but mainly he is wonderful! Alot of people can't say that their husbands come home from work, while I have been home all day, cleans up, iron's his clothes, and does whatever needs to be done (without complaining). I don't even have to ask him which makes it even better!

Jared and I are high school sweethearts. We started dating when I was a senior in high school. We then continued to date through college and things got a little rocky! We were together off and on.  We fought ALOT, hurt each other and all those silly things that happen when you're young. Through all of that we both knew that we would get married one day. When I watched the Notebook (I just saw it for the first time a few weeks ago) we laughed because it reminded us of when we would fight and then be just fine in a few hours!   We are still like that today! We don't fight nearly as bad, but when we argue we are laughing in about 5 minutes. It's great because we don't have to hold anything in, we can totally be ourselves around each other and tell each other what we think and we're ok with that!

I have really been working on being a better wife to Jared. I can be a bit controlling (Jared is going to laugh when he reads this and say "A BIT"), but I have really been trying not to be. I have been praying, and asking God to change me.  I guess if you knew my situation growing up you would understand why I want to control him. Jared understands this and even when it annoys him, he knows why I am this way.

Jared loves to duck hunt. I mean REALLY loves it! He talks about it all the time and looks at stuff on the internet about it. I tell him he is obsessed with duck hunting! Ha! Honestly it gets on my nerves during duck season because he has to get up SUPER early and it wakes me up, then I get spooked and cant sleep.Ha! Pretty much me being selfish. He really just likes to be outside doing something if it's working on his boat, working on his jeep, messing with his hunting stuff, or playing golf in the yard. I used to not want him to go anywhere (being controlling), but in the past few weeks I have really tired to just let him do what he wants. He works hard, goes to school, and allows me to stay at home. The least I can do is let him have a life!

He is my best friend and I love him more than words can say! I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
